In partnership with Dierks Bentley, UNICEF created this video to share his commitment to advancing the fundamental rights of children everywhere. His Grammy-nominated song "Beautiful World" is an inspiring duet that features Bentley and special guest Patty Griffin.
Taylor Swift has been the toast of nearly every awards show this year, and she could find herself up for an Oscar next year, too. Taylor co-wrote the song "You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home," which was recorded by Miley Cyrus for Hannah Montana: The Movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, that tune is now one of five songs from that film in the running for the Academy Awards' Best Original Song award. Since the award goes to the writer, Taylor would be the recipent here. However, there are 63 total songs in this round of voting. Find out whether or not Taylor made the cut when the Oscar nominees are announced on February 2nd, 2010.
AND again Taylor holds on to the number-one spot of Billboard's Country Albums chart with Fearless. The quintuple-platinum release was up 32 percent in sales to move 168 thousand units last week. Carrie Underwood's album Play On also got a 32 percent sales bump thanks to her recent Fox holiday special. That project comes in at number two this week, with 107 thousand copies sold.
Anne Hathaway was involved in a minor car accident in Santa Monica on Wednesday afternoon. The former Oscar nominee was a passenger in a black Audi when a bicyclist crashed into the side of the vehicle. Anne and her boyfriend who was driving were both uninjured. Freddy Ferraro, 32, who was riding the purple bike with pink pedals, suffered only minor bruises and refused any medical attention. He told photographers he was OK and that the actress was caring and helpful.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says Hathaway and her boyfriend, Adam Shulman, who was behind the wheel, were not at fault in the crash. The bicyclist was a paparazzo and was determined to have caused the accident, but no arrests have been made.
I’ve had a lot fun being a brunette, but as of this weekend I’ll be heading back toward blonde. I’m fine with my hair color being dark but it seems I am the only one who is cool with it. Co-Workers, friends, acquaintances, listeners and most importantly my girls, have all had a hard time adjusting to the darker side of me. Rather than continue to get annoyed with all the comments I hear about my hair being too dark, I’m just going to give up life as a brunette. I’ll never rule out coming back this way again in the future…maybe next fall, but for now to stop my blood pressure from rising every time someone has a problem with me as a brunette, I’m going back to blonde. Slowly. I’m stubborn. I’m annoyed that I can’t enjoy the new me so I’m not going to rush back to blonde to please everyone else right away. And for the record, I may just keep the bangs too. I’m not sure yet. Club Bonus is Brunette.
The Academy of Country Music is making some changes to some of their major award categories for 2010...
Instead of the traditional five nominees, The Entertainer of the Year category will now have slots for eight acts to be nominated. In the New Artist categories, the Top New Male Vocalist and Top New Female Vocalist categories will be combined to form the single Top New Solo Vocalist category, and the Top New Vocal Duo or Group category will be split into Top New Vocal Duo and Top New Group. The finalists in all three newcomer categories will still compete for the Top New Artist award, and both Entertainer of the Year and Top New Artist will also remain open to fan voting next year.
I still can't believe this story after reading it a few times and watching the video above twice. Wow. ~Vanessa
Hayden Wright is following in his father’s footsteps. The four-year old Tennessee boy has run afoul of the law after getting drunk on a cold Bud Light beer and going on a crime spree in a little girl’s Christmas dress he had stolen.
Hayden had to have his stomach pumped, but not before he got drunk, escaped from his house, broke into a neighbor’s house, stole five Christmas gifts, before he was found by a neighbor on the street, holding the Bud Light, wearing a brown little girl’s dress that he had unwrapped from one of the presents he had stolen.
Hayden’s mom April Wright believes he is simply trying to act out and get in trouble so he can get to see his father. “He runs away trying to find his father. He wants to get in trouble so he can go to jail because that’s where his daddy is.”
The 4-year old got the beer out of his grandfather’s cooler in the back of the house. He also successfully snuck out of the house. His mother seems a bit embarrassed to have to be talking about the incident to reporters, but she doesn’t seem to be taking much responsibility for it either. She clearly stated this is not the first time it has happened.
Tiger Woods -- who has been named Athlete of the Decade by The Associated Press -- is dealing with his extramarital affair scandal with late-night golfing sessions, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue.
A resident in Woods' Isleworth gated community in Windermere, Fla., tells Us Weekly that the 33-year-old athlete -- who announced Dec. 11 that he is taking a break from professional golf to focus on being "a better person" -- has been spotted "coming by in the early evenings only for their counseling and therapy." After those grueling sessions -- which a source describes as the golfer "just apologizing over and over again" -- Woods heads to a nearby course to hit golf balls "to clear his head," another local says. "He goes after dark so he can't be seen. For him, what's more therapeutic than hitting golf balls, the thing he's best at in the whole world?"
Seems the intense therapy won't be able to save Woods' five-year marriage: A new report claims that Nordegren -- mother to Sam, 2, and Charlie, 10 months -- will "100 percent" divorce him. She and the kids are also expected to spend the holidays without him.
She may be a big-name movie star, but in an ideal world, Rachel McAdams would be on the other side of the screen. "1995, on a sofa," she tells Vogue's January issue when asked about her perfect day. "I grew up watching so much television. I was really into soap operas. I'd begin with Days of our Lives, then Another World, and finish off with General Hospital. And before dinner I'd watch Oprah."
In fact, it was a wonder McAdams, 31, passed high school at all, she says. "I would fake sick all the time to the point where I'd convince myself I was sick," the star of Sherlock Holmes says. "In high school I really didn't pay attention. I took the bare minimum to get by."
Julianne Hough's new workout DVD, Cardio Ballroom is now in stores! Julianne says that it was the fans that talked her into making the video. "Every time I meet a Dancing with the Starsfan, they're like, 'Man, I wish I could dance like that. Is that how you stay in shape?'" the 21-year-old Hough tells TVGuide.com. "And I say [yes] and they go, 'I wish I could take lessons from you or a pro.' So I thought, why not do something that's dance-related?"
Earlier this week I told that Garth Brooks has filed a 500 thousand dollar lawsuit against an Oklahoma hospital for breach of contract. According to court documents, Garth gave Integris Canadian Valley Regional hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma the half million dollars to name a new facility after his later mother, Colleen Brooks. The hospital never included that facility in its plans for an expansion project, so Garth is suing.
A rep for the hospital tells TMZ there has simply been a misunderstanding and they're hoping for a "swift and amicable end." That might be tough, though, according to a rep for Garth, who tells People magazine, quote, "This deals with his mother, the home town and the people he grew up with and is deeply personal."
LeAnn Rimes made an appearance on the Fox special Chef Ramsay's Cookalong Live Tuesday night, and while she didn't discuss her relationship with Eddie Cibrian, she did clear up some rumors about her spotty driving record. LeAnn has reportedly had three car accidents in the past few months, but she said on the show that one didn't even happen and blamed another one on the paparazzi following her. LeAnn says, quote, "I accidentally might have rolled into a car, but it didn't even leave a scratch on my car!" LeAnn admits to another fender bender and another accident with a golf cart, though.
I really enjoyed the show, it was fun to watch. I thought LeAnn did a great job cooking...try as I may to dislike her, I just can't. I think the criticism on her has been way too harsh. ~Vanessa
I say this claim is ridonkulous! What do you think?....
A YouTube video of Toby Keith onstage with Will Smith at a Nobel Peace Prize Concert after party in Norway has caused quite a stir among the Asian community. About 26 seconds into the clip, Toby is standing onstage as Will performs "Rapper's Delight." When he gets to the word "yellow," Toby pulls back his left eye into what could be interpreted as a slant-eyed expression. This act has caused a few reps from Asian watchdog group to cry foul.
A spokesman for the Media Action Network for Asians tells E! Online, quote, "By doing this, he is telling his Asian fans, 'You don't matter. You're not on my radar.'" A rep for the Asian American Justice Center says, quote, "Toby Keith embarrassed himself and his country, denigrated the Nobel Peace Prize and offended Asians and Asian Americans by using a crude, racist hand gesture."
So far, Toby's camp has only responded to TMZ.com saying, quote, "No one at the concert thought Toby was out of line. Everyone was impressed with his rapping skills and that's it...It was a very friendly, genuine and supportive atmosphere."
