The rumors about John Travolta being gay are as legendary as the Church of Scientology is mysterious. Indeed, in Los Angeles, you don't have to throw a set of rainbow freedom rings to find some man who claims that Travolta hit on him, or some person in the entertainment industry who's heard a similar story from a reliable source.

But it's rare to have someone close to Travolta mention it, especially when that someone is Carrie Fisher.

Today in The Advocate, writer Brandon Voss interviews the former Princess Leia about her autobiographical solo show (and upcoming special on HBO), Wishful Drinking. In the very last question he says, "I know you and Travolta go way back, so let’s get really blunt here: Does his legal team have any business demanding Gawker remove a recent post suggesting that he’s given blow jobs?"

CARRIE FISHER: Wow! I mean, my feeling about John has always been that we know and we don’t care. Look, I’m sorry that he’s uncomfortable with it, and that’s all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when you make that kind of legal fuss. Just leave it be.
