The Tennessee Supreme Court has denied an appeal filed by Curb Records.

In September, a state appeals court in Nashville ruled that McGraw was free to record for other labels while the litigation continued. Curb took the case to the state's highest court which refused to hear the appeal.

McGraw and the label have had a longstanding dispute over the terms of his recording contract and the way his music was released. His first project for Big Machine Records, "Two Lanes of Freedom", was released on Feb. 5 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart.
