You know who life is great for right now? Minneapolis area sports talk radio hosts. Like this has been a DREAM week for them. No show prep. No research. No finding stories to generate callers. Just say "Vikings" on the air as your first word and bingo bango non stop calls the entire time.
Anyway I know this is sort of old news at this point but are the Vikings for real with this move? My guess is that this was the result of the above video that followed their loss to the Patriots but if that's the case than Brad Childress should be the next in the unemployment line. Like you traded for Randy Moss folks. Randy. Moss. What did you expect to happen here? Whaaaaaaa Randy's not trying hard on plays, Whaaaaaa he said bad things about our team, Whaaaaaa he still loves the Patriots. Ummmmmmm, pretty sure that's just Randy being Randy? If only there were some way we could have anticipated this totally unexpected behavior! I mean this is the equivalent of buying a desk from Ikea and expecting to understand the directions. Or going to Taco Bell for lunch and being upset when you're on the can the rest of the day. You know what you got yourself into.
In a related story Bill Belichek may be the greatest GM of all time if he can somehow get Moss back. Dude got the Vikes to give him a 3rd round pick for Moss, then Moss implodes in 3 weeks, Vikes cut him, and he returns to the Patriots. Diabolical!
PS: While I'm sure someone will beat the Packers to the waiver claim on Moss, if he does indeed fall to the Packers we're going to find out just how vindictive Ted Thompson is. Favre flat out begged Thompson to get Moss for him back in 2007. How great/awesome/hilarious/phenomenal would it be for him to pick up Moss for Rodgers.
Double PS: Say what you will about Moss but he has easily been the most entertaining player in the NFL over the last decade and a half. Straight cash homey! isn't just a line to a reporter, it's a philosophy for life. Socrates. Aristotle. Randy Moss.
