I'm fairly certain that any video, picture, or audio of last season's NFC Championship game will never get old to me. Anytime I'm feeling down about anything in life I can just listen to the radio call of that interception and by the time I get to "THIS IS NOT DETROIT MAN THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL" I forgot what I was even mad about. I mean that audio has made the job of any therapist with a Packer fan patient easier than being a radio djahahahaha. Okay not that easy. Seriously though, going through a divorce? KFAN audio. Loss of job? KFAN audio. Having KFAN audio withdrawls? KFAN audio. Bingo bango problems solved. I would go so far as to make it my ringtone if I knew how to accomplish such a task. Seriously I'm not sure what happens when you hit your late 20's in terms of understanding technology, but all I know is that holding my phone up to the computer while the audio is playing and saying "make new phone call sound" does NOT get the job done. Come on science, where are you when I need you!
In all honesty though this game coming up on Sunday is HUGE for the Packers. Outside of the whole Brett Favre saga blah blah blah, the NFC is a congested mess and with so many teams at 6 or 7 wins wild card spots aren't going to be easy to come by. Bottom line is I think the Packers are going to have to win the division to get into the playoffs and with games in Atlanta and New England still looming you've got to take care of business against a 3-6 team. And with the Bears winning again last night and owning a tiebreak against the Pack, winning the division might be one of those things that comes down to the final game of the year. Of course with the type of competition the Bears have been playing they might be 12-3 at that point. Legit question: are the Bears the worst 7-3 team ever? Because honestly I've never seen a group of guys get this lucky since ___________ (enter female celebrity sextape here). They won on a technicality in week 1 when Calvin Johnson didn't hang on to the football before boarding the plane home, they beat a Carolina team that could possibly be worst football team in the NFL, they beat a Bill team that may be the only team worse than Carolina by a field goal, and then last night they beat a Miami team that was down to a QB that 99% of the fans watching had to google to figure out who he was! Whoa...I blacked out there for a minute.....that escalated quickly.
PS: This morning I mixed together audio of the Desmond Bishop pick 6 with audio from the KFAN call. By far the crowning acheivement of my 10 years in broadcasting. If I don't win a Marconi for it I'll be shocked. WHOOOOOOOOOO!
