Mark Schlereth:1 NFL:0...Soccer:0

Preach Mark! Preach! This rant is Mark Schlereth metaphorically going helmet to helmet on Roger Goodell. Like Roger never knew what hit him here. Mark had his ipad, visual aides, physical aides, DVD evidence, hell he even referenced his mother in law! Talk about going for the throat! Do you think Roger Goodell wants to be fielding calls from player's mothers in law all day? Diabolical Mark. Almost a shot below the belt there.

In any case to say Schelerth Matlocked the hell out of this argument would be an understatement. He is 300% right about every point he makes. And I'm not exactly sure why the NFL decided to 'crack down' on this stuff after this particular week but they need to get back into the workshop and think of a more viable response than just to throw every hit under a blanket and fine and suspend guilty players. Everyone keeps screaming about the fact that 'if the NFL didn't make this move someone was going to get killed.' Ummmmmm, what? Listen my formal training is in talking/lying on the air, but even I could do a simple google search of 'has any player every died during an NFL game' and the answer according to BOTH Yahoo! answers and Wiki answers is 'no.' And if we can't trust Wiki answers than 100% of the papers I wrote in college are inaccurate.

Not to mention this is the NFL folks. As Schlereth says these players are trained to hit like this from the age of 5. This is like being taught to write in cursive and finding out it's useless later in life. Oh wait. Either way concussions are going to happen. Injuries are going to happen. You know what eases the pain of those injuries? Making millions of dollars a year. And it's not as if these players are being forced to play football. They choose to compete in a dangerous profession and they know going into it the possibility of a life altering injury. Some people choose that. Others like me choose to sit in front of a computer all day and write grammatically flawed blogs about people who choose dangerous professions. They make millions. I get paid in Slim Jims. But it's all a choice.

PS: What is the percentage chance that this was supposed to be a simple 1 minute segment before Schelerth blacked out like Frank the Tank and brought the fire. Like 150%? Josh Elliot never stood a chance.

Double PS: How long do you think Chuch Cecil would last in the modern day NFL before he had to file for bankruptcy. Two game? One? A quarter?
