Preach Bluto! Preach!
Alright so in case you missed it yesterday it was announced that Ryan Grant was going to be out for the rest of the season with the ankle/knee/leg injury that he suffered on Sunday. Obviously this is not good news this early in the season for a team that is in the final stages of planning a parade down Oneida street come February. Truth be told Ryan Grant has been one of the best backs in the NFL since he took over the starting job midway through 2007. Dude racked up almost 3,500 yards in those 2+ seasons. Crazy right? Like I knew he was a decent running back but apparently the only back in the NFC that has had more yards in that time period is Adrian Peterson. That sentence sounds like it's made up doesn't it? I thought so too, but I verified it's validity on Wikipedia, Google, NFL.com, and sportsillustrated.com/swimsuit_2010. Alright that last one didn't have anything on Ryan Grant, but when I was on their site there was a link to it on the side scroll and I had to make 150% certain that it did NOT have any info on Grant's career/injury. Leave no stone unturned you know?
So with all that said he was clearly an important cog in our offense that will be missed. But let's pump our brakes a little on the sky falling on Green Bay's season. It's not like Aaron Rodgers got hurt. Or Clay Matthews. Or Charles Woodson. Or Zombo. I mean I can think of at least 7 or 8 players I'd be more concerned about losing than Ryan Grant. In fact Grant kind of reminds me of the Flash in Justice League. Like yeah he's there, and he's helpful like once an episode, but if he wasn't there would anybody miss him? It's not like he's Superman, Green Lantern, or Batman right? And in order to prove me point I've created a visual aide. Justice League right now:

Alright now without Flash:

Not the same, but not the end of the world right? So while Grant was important, this team will survive. Teddy Ballgame just has to find a veteran to be a compliment to Brandon Jackson. Remember in 1996 when Robert Brooks tore his ACL and Freeman broke his arm and Ron Wolf went out and signed Don Beebe and Andre 'Bad Moon' Rison? Sort of like that. Except he shouldn't sign Beebe or Rison this time. Maybe Beebe. And yes I just compared this team to the '96 team. Wanna fight about it?
PS: I don't understand why we can't just get Chris Johnson. Ted just has to go to his user settings, turn 'on' accept all trades and offer the Titans a 7th round pick for him. Bingo bango problem solved. Being an NFL GM is easy.
