In any case if you missed it yesterday afternoon the NFL named Clay Matthews the NFC defensive player of the week/haunter of quarterbacks dreams. It's a lesser known award but I'm pretty sure there's a free oil change that comes with it or something. Either way this had to be the quickest NFC Defensive POTW meeting of all time right? Like basically 13 seconds to make this choice and 59 minutes and 47 seconds of Halo? Sounds about right.

Honestly how good is this kid going to be? Like I hate to throw LT comparisons out there but can you think of another linebacker that has blown up entire offensive lines this early in his career? Like if someone asked me right now to grade him out for the rest of his career and gave me these options:

A. Perennial Pro Bowler

B. Multiple time defensive player of the year

C. Future Hall of Famer

D. Best hair in the NFL

E. All of the above

I'm bubbling in 'E' on the scantron 10 times out of 10 folks!

Not to mention Clay is one of the results of the Brett Favre to the Jets trade. We got a third rounder for Brett which we used to trade up in the 1st round and snatch Matthews. How's that trade looking now? In Ted we trust.
