Badgers score 43234 points in one game.

I'd say this 30 second youtube video depicts the Badger/Austin Peay matchup on Saturday pretty well huh? Total mismatch from the time the Austin Peay bus arrived. I mean the Badgers could have taken a knee every play for the entire second half and still won this game by 50. I'm pretty sure I saw Brett Bielema playing Free Cell on his iPhone in the 3rd quarter. Course that could be any game really.

In any case the point of this blog is not to recap the entire massacre. The point of this blog is that I don't understand the amount of media grandstanding the day after the game where people were complaining about the Badgers not giving their fans their 'money's worth' by scheduling this game. Article after article basically bopping the athletic department on the nose with a rolled up newspaper for cheating people by charging full admission for a glorified scrimmage. BAD Bucky! No! NOO! You will not schedule also-rans for non-conference games!

Ummmmmm am I missing something? I mean the last time I checked the Badgers weren't forcing people into buses, dropping them off at Camp Randall and forcing them to pay full price admission for this game right? Pretty much the only people that had to pay full price would be season ticket holders and I'm guessing if you have decent season tickets for every Badger home game you're not too worried about ONE $50 ticket for a blowout. Not to mention everyone who went this game had great weather, got to tailgate all day in Madison, and watched the Badger offense set a school record for points. Yeah that sounds like an awful day. I wouldn't wish a day of drinking in beautiful weather while watching your favorite college team put up 70 points on my worst enemy. The only person/animal I felt bad for during that game was Bucky. Dude must have done somewhere around 525 pushups in 3 hours. I haven't done 50 20 10 any pushups in the last 5 years.

Also I felt bad for the announcers. I've called high school football, college football, baseball and basketball for a long time and there's nothing worse than knowing you're in for a blowout before a game even starts. Calling this game for ESPN and being enthuiastic for 4 quarters while attempting to make Austin Peay sound like it has a legit chance to compete would be like doing play by play for a date between me and Jessica Biel and making it sound like I've got a shot.

PS: I looked at the betting line for this game before kickoff and it was set at -45. I thought to myself, I thought "Jon," I thought. This game should be a rout, but 45 points? Seems unlikely. Save your money and find a better game to roll the dice on. End of 1st half score: 49-3. Inside voice gambling advice fail.

Doulbe PS: This defense will never live down allowing 3 points in this game.
