Brewers sweep Reds; so you're saying there's a chance?!

Welp if this doesn't sum up my attitude after watching a come from behind sweep clinching victory yesterday I don't know what does. Minus the Storm Trooper outfit of course. Anyone who knows me knows I dress up like Han Solo when I get done with work and turn the game on. Either way this past series was without a doubt the 'what could have been' series. Clutch hitting, solid defense and a bullpen that locked it down without making me sweat harder than Dom Deluise. And how about Jim Henderson? Rocking the Hoffman #51 and flat out DEALING! Guy's got a Matt Christopher story to him as well. Career minor leaguer makes good. I guess, they say opportunity is where preparation meets luck. Well 10 years in the minors is certainly preparation and 'luck' is every other member of the bullpen melting down like Jessie Spano on caffeine pills. Like at this point I'd rather give Bernie Madoff my 401K than give K-Rod the ball ever again. How he hasn't been DFA-ed is beyond a miracle. I'd rather pay him 4 million to go away than pay him another dollar to blow a game. But give credit to Henderson, this might have been his only shot and he's seizing it.

Also is Carlos Gomez coming on? like is this his Willie Mays Hayes 'I get it' moment? I feel like he goes on a stretch like this every year for a month and I write the same blog about him getting it together only to be horribly disapointed the next season. It's like when you go on a bender then wake up and say 'I'm NEVER drinking again' only to pop a top 10 hours later. Same deal with Gomez. I always get sucked in. But if he's finding his way that would go a long way to solving a problem next year. If he can bat .270 and get on base he's plus player. And this Michael Fiers ain't too shabby either. Every bad season has a big bright spot and Fiers is that this year. Just like when the Pack went 4-12 in 2005 and Samkon Gado took the world by storm. So Michael Fiers....is....Samkon Gado? That's either a great compliment or a horrible insult and I'm not sure which. Nevertheless the guy seems legit and could be a #2 next season.

All that being said the sweep upped our playoff odds on ESPN from .1% to .3%! Hey you can't get to 100% from .1% without getting to .3% right? Right?!
