I spent most of the morning trying to think of what Manny Parra 'is' and this is what I came up with . Guy's got all the talent in the frieking world and is an unmitigated disaster when he gets behind in the count or allows a base runner. He's Brooklyn Decker modeling pants suits. Like you know beneath it all he's got all the God given ability in the world. He's got a 96 mph fastball, a 12 to 6 curve and a splitter that falls of the table. You know what else he's got? A career 5.12 ERA. I just don't get it. Maybe Dan Brown can tackle that mystery once we finally get a resolution on the Da Vinci Code. But I think it may be finally time to sever ties with this kid. The problem is you know there's a 50/50 chance he becomes a stud the second he leaves. One of those change of scenery things. Like R.A. Dickey, or anyone who leaves the Bucks. Again, it's hard to come after pitching in a 1-0 loss in extras. Like they gave you 9 and 1/3 of one run ball. Should be enough to win. But as soon as Parra came in you knew it was over. Guy is like Rain Man missing The People's Court when he allows a base runner. Just can't shake it off.

On a side note if ANYONE in the Brewers organization is still considering putting Michael Fiers in long relief or back to Nashville they need to be fired and fired yesterday. Guy is 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA. He doesn't walk anybody. I don't think it's time to wave the white flag and just 'see what we have' but at the same time the guy is proving himself every start, and Yovani Gallardo is the only pitcher under contract next season. Maybe Fiers can be a building block. But if I see him in the bullpen in order to Marco Estrada more starts or Livan Hernandez* in the rotation I'm gonna lose it. That's a Ken Macha decision. Don't make me compare you to Ken Macha, Ron. Don't you do it.

*How about that signing? Like really? Livan Hernandez? That's where we're at? I guess it's not often a guy who pitched in the Negro Leagues is available. Seriously there's a strong chance I played with Hernandez in RBI baseball. Guy might have a Compuserve email account. I once watched him standard def.
