Alright so this is the video that took the internet by storm last week. Bus monitor Karen Klein just getting destroyed by a bunch of punk kids while on duty somewhere in Michigan I think. Admittedly I didn't ride the bus much as a kid but the few times I did it was like Lord of the Flies on crack. Verbal abuse, physical abuse, it was like an episode of American Gladiators. If you could say to yourself "welp, I didn't die' when you got off the bus, THAT was a successful trip. Some of the toughest people I know rode the bus everyday in middle school. Some of the softest people I know became internet bloggers but that's another story for another day. But to say this was a shocking display is an insult to shocking displays. Like you couldn't pay me enough to spend a day teaching middle school kids, let alone riding on the bus with them to and from school 5 days a week. Just a nightmare from top to bottom. I'd rather watch the DVD extras to Gigli every day until I'm 65 than have that job.

Now as I've mentioned before, the one redeeming quality of the internet life we lead is that is makes everything a fishbowl. If you get hit in the groin, everyone sees it. If you pass out with your shoes on and your friends go Bob Ross on you with magic marker, everyone sees it. And if you act like an asshole to an old lady just trying to make a buck, everyone sees it. So I guess there's this website called indiegogo that works as a fund raiser for certain projects. Whoever, whomever, whoever? Who(m)ever is in charge caught wind of this and started a fund raiser to send Karen on the 'vacation of a lifetime.' Awesome! No one deserves it more and for the first time I'm not being sarcastic. Like this woman deserves it more than anyone. The thing is that SO many people saw it, it took just 5 days to look like this:

650 G's! With 25 days left! Like this could legit get over 2 million before all is said and done. So while I still think she should get all of this for dealing with these kids all the time, my question is would you put up with a job like this for a lump sum payment of $650,000? Like I get badmouthed from our listeners every day and I get squat. I'd even take an iTunes gift card so I can download new John Mayer songs to cry myself to sleep to. But would you take this abuse for that amount of money?
