Had to spend some of my internet space today on wishing a happy birthday to a 90's icon: Jaleel White/Steve Urkel/Stefan Urquel. I'm telling you no one owned the 90's more than this guy. To say he was the Prince of TGIF was an understatement. Like there was a time in the not so distant past where people actually watched TV on Friday nights and I can remember my whole elementary school Friday revolving around what type of hijinks Urkel was going to get mixed up in next. Hell I actually owned Steve Urkel T-Shirts with Urkel catch phrases that I wore when I was 8 (25) years old. I have to wonder though if Jaleel White had access to a flux capacitor if he would go back in time and decide against this career move. I mean yeah it made him an icon for about 5 years, but it's also his only calling card and he'll never have a serious acting role again in his life. Plus every time he goes in public I'm sure people scream 'Got any cheese?!' or 'I've fallen and I can't get up!' at him no matter where he goes. It's not a matter of 'if' but 'when' Jaleel goes on a shooting rampage at a bank or something and afterwards says 'Did I do that?!' as he unloads a pair of empty clips.
Also one thing that bothered the absolute CRAP out of me even when I was 9 was why Urkel was so obsessed with Laura Winslow when Myra was 2,000% hotter and couldn't get enough of him.

No contest right? Wake up Steve! Laura is giving you the Lisa Turtle treatment!
PS: My favorite Family Matters fun fact is how they just disposed of that third daughter 'Judy' and Harriet's sister Rachel and her kid Richie. Like one season they were just gone with no explanation. I mean can Judy get an amber alert or something? I always half expected her to show up in a random episode covered in dirt saying 'you thought you could get rid of me didn't you!'
Double PS: Also birthday's today? Fresh Prince's Uncle Phil/Shredder and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Damn near the Holy Trinity of 90's pop culture.
