Still pound for pound my favorite video on the internet. And that's saying something. Like I don't know if you know this but there are some interesting video's that exist in the depths of the internet. I mean that's what I've heard at least. My parents still haven't lifted the parental controls on my computer so I'm pretty much on the diet-internet plan. Maybe one day!
Anyhow the news from 1265 yesterday was that Greg Jennings is opting for groin surgery (which by the way is one of those phrases that makes you make an audible 'oooof') and Jordy Nelson's hamstring is a bigger issue than previously thought so he may be out on Sunday as well. Which leaves Cobb, Jones, and you guessed it Donald Driver! Now again, I'm not rooting for Jordy to be out, but I am kind of excited to see Driver get extended playing time on Sunday against an awful team. Like I think we can all agree that Jennings/Cobb/Jones/Nelson are the 4 best WR's on the team and deserve the most snaps. It's the first rule of roadside beet sales. Put the most desirable beets in front. But don't think that Driver isn't capable of still lighting up a secondary and we may get to see it on Sunday. Which is EXACTLY why you keep a guy like this on your team. I know a lot of people (including myself) feel bad that he never gets to play, and a lot of others think we should just cut him altogether. Well folks this is why those people are stupid. Injuries in the NFL happen every week. You need depth to survive (see Super Bowl, 2010) and Driver is exactly that. I mean how many other teams have a wide receiver go down and can go to the garage and dust off guy with 10,000+ receiving yards and 50+ TD's? Not many. It's like if you get a new power tool. Do you just throw out the standard screwdrivers and hammers you've had for years? No. You keep them around in case you need them because they are proven. They get the job done. Or in my case you keep tools around do it can look like you're a man when really Google Yellow Pages are your go to. But the metaphor doesn't work that way.
Also, there's no reason to be worried about this game on Sunday is there? I was on-air on Thursday and said something to the effect of 'blah blah blah, as long as Aaron Rodgers is present we'll win this game by two touchdowns, blah blah blah 90's pop culture reference blah.' Then I had a lot of listeners (two) text in and say I shouldn't be so confident and to remember the times when the Packers were favored by a lot and lost. Detroit on Thanksgiving three years ago, and the Jason Garrett game in Cowboy Stadium were examples. Look I get that sometimes there's an upset, but this Jaguar team has no business even sniffing a win on Sunday. Plus leadership is from the top down people. As an owner if I admit I'm nervous about the Jaguars, what are my players supposed to think? That ownership doesn't have confidence in them? For sure not. Packers by 20+. I think.
PS: As far as I'm concerned that Driver 90 yard TD against the Giants in the NFC Championship game was the last play of that game.
