Well if this doesn't sum up my feelings about the Brewers right now I don't know what does. Like I'm afraid to talk about them on the air or blog about them for fear that I'll jinx it in some way. The 'they can't see you if you don't move' philosophy also applies to all sorts of things in life by the way. It's generally my go to whenever I have to answer a question I don't have the answer to, when strange women approach me, or when someone walks in the studio and I have something unsavory on the computer screen. Needless to say I spend a lot of time in suspended motion. It's like I live life as an extra in Saved By the Bell when Zack calls a time-out.

In any case this has been one of the most incredible runs I've seen from a baseball team in a LONG time. Sure you could waste energy asking 'where has this been all year?' or 'I bet we're going to regret all those blown saves' blah blah. Listen just enjoy one of the hottest stretches this team has enjoyed in a long time and relax. There will be plenty of time for retroactive blame once the season ends. Only downside to the weekend is that we're sort of forced to be Cubs fans with St. Louis heading to Wrigley. Bleh. The only time I've actively rooted for the Cubs is when Henry Rovwengartner pitched for them. Actually if the Cubs could just reassemble that cast and put them in the dugout for the weekend it would be cheering for them a LOT easier to stomach. Plus I'm sure Thomas Ian Nichols and Gary Busey are pretty low rent these days. Hell Daniel Stern may actually be the Cubs pitching coach right now.

Bottom line is the resurrection of the Brewers' playoff chances has been the most fun I've had watching baseball since Game 1 of the NLCS last year. Every night you turn it on and expect them to win. Kind of like they've got a cheat code on or something. Just rolling through town like Mario on star power. Let's just hope they have enough gas in the tank to take it to the finish.

PS: Me 8 months ago when Selig added the extra wild card: Boooooo this takes the exclusivity away! The best part of baseball is that it's hard to get in the playoffs! Me 2 weeks ago: This extra wild card is the best thing to happen to baseball since interleague play! Selig so hot right now. Selig.
