Given a well deserved Victory Monday, the Packers players enjoyed an extra day off while the coaching staff reviewed the game film of Sunday's 45-17 dismantling of the New York Giants to keep the Pack's playoff hopes alive. Head Coach Mike McCarthy said he likes the mindset of his team heading into the win and get in regular season finale against division rival Chicago. He said several players showed up at Lambeau anyway to work out or begin film study. Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said the execution with his unit was excellent both on the line of scrimmage and with the skill players, as they piled up a season high 515 yards of offense. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers was most impressed with how his unit responded after giving up nearly back to back touchdowns in the second quarter to shut down the New York offense in the second half, coming up with 5 of the game's 6 takeaways.
On the medical front, Korey Hall has a sprained knee and Atari Bigby pulled a groin and McCarthy has already ruled both out of the Chicago game. Cullen Jenkins' status is still up in the air after missing the last two weeks with a calf strain. Frank Zombo is expected to try and practice later in the week coming off a knee injury.
As for the Giants, they head for home today after spending the last three nights at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. The massive snowstorm on the east coast is finally getting cleaned up.
