Back home from San Diego, the Packers transitioned from night work, Saturday was their final camp workout under the lights, to regular season practice schedules, Sunday's work began at 11:15 am, but after the two most significant injuries of the summer occured against the Chargers, Desmond Bishop with a hamstring tear that will require surgery and possibly jeopardize his season, and Davon House with a shoulder now strapped to a sling, it's amazing the team got any work done at all considering the skeleton crew Mike McCarthy has at his disposal.  Here's the list:

Jerel Worthy, Desmond Bishop, Davon House, Diondre Borel, Shaky Smithston, Marshall Newhouse, Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley, Du'ane Bennett, Brandon Saine, Jon Hoese, Sam Shields, Eric Lair, Frank Zombo, Johnny Jones, Ray Dominguez, Derek Sherrod, Andrew Quarless, Tori Gurley and James Starks.

Ryan Taylor, Mike Daniels and Anthony Levine came off the list by returning to work on Sunday.  Both weekend practices were less than two hours, partly because of the low numbers and partly because it was a late finish and early start.  The first team offensive line, without Newhouse, rotated Herb Taylor, Thursday night's shaky starter, Andrew Datko and newcome Reggie Wells at left tackle.  Wells is a 10 year veteran signed late last week who started 90 games with Arizona before moving on to Philly and Carolina the last couple of seasons.  D.J. Smith will take over for Bishop and with House down, Casey Hayward and Jarrett Bush are battling for the starting job.  The team is particularly thin at running back, with Starks, Bennett and Saine down.  Marc Tyler and Alex Green are getting an inordinate number of reps with John Kuhn helping out at running back, in addition to his fullback duties.  The Packers appear to still be in negotiations with former Chicago Bear number one pick Cedric Benson.  Reports surfaced over the weekend the Packers were interested in the running back who put up big numbers in Cincinnati after his career looked in doubt because of off-field issues while in Chicago.   Benson rushed for over 3400 yards in his last three seasons with the Bengals, including a 141 yard effort against the Pack at Lambeau, but at 29, may be on the cusp, if not beyond his prime.  He may be seeking some guaranteed money from the Pack, which could be holding up talks.   The team is back on the practice field at 11:15 AM Monday morning.  On the link below, post-practice quotes from McCarthy and the players.
