Matt Flynn will get his shot to be a starting quarterback in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks.  The fourth year pro out of LSU, an unrestricted free agent, signed a three year contract with former Packers scout and Seahawk General Manager John Schneider on Sunday.   Flynn started only two games in his career with the Pack which began as a 7th round draft choice in 2008.   Both were memorable.  He nearly pulled off the upset of the Patriots in New England in December of 2010 and this past January, closed out the 15-1 regular season with a record setting show against the Detroit Lions.  Flynn passed for single game records of 480 yards and 6 touchdowns in the Green Bay rout.  After visiting Miami and former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, the new head coach of the Dolphins, Flynn eventually decided on the Seahawks, signing for a reported 19 million dollars with as much as five million available in incentives.   He will compete with former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tavaris Jackson for the job.   Flynn is the second Packer to leave as starting Pro Bowl center Scott Wells was signed by the St. Louis Rams on Friday. The departures leave two significant holes in the roster, the starting center and back up quarterback.  The only other quarterbacks on the roster behind NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers are Graham Harrell and practice squad signal caller Nick Hill, a first year pro out of Southern Illinois.  Left to vye for the starting center job is journeyman Evan Dietrich-Smith who helped out at guard last season and practice squad free agent Sampson Genus.  General Manager Ted Thompson may have to address both positions in next month's draft.  Wisconsin Badger Peter Konz, a native of Neenah, is regarded as the top center coming out but he may not be available when the Packers choose at number 28 in the first round.
