Mindy McCready has broken her silence on the situation surrounding the alleged adult DVD starring her and a former boyfriend. A little background first -- Vivid Entertainment announced plans to release the tape, titled Baseball Mistress, on April 19th, and even released a minute-long teaser of the footage to certain websites. That footage has now been removed online, and Vivid has delayed release of the tape while they verify the documentation backing up their right to release it.

McCready's lawyer, Adam Dread, released a statement saying his client never made a video for Vivid Entertainment or any company of that genre, and Vivid still hasn't proved they have a right to release McCready's image or likeness on the tape. Dread tells us Vivid hasn't made a copy of the DVD available to them.  

Overall, McCready herself has been satisfied with the way Vivid and the company's founder, Steven Hirsch, has handled the situation so far. Shesays, "Vivid Entertainment has been pretty respectable about taking it off the shelves, taking it off the net, basically, and agreeing to do so without a bunch of legal crap that you would have to go through." McCready claims Hirsch "basically admitted" he was wrong in the matter.  It doesn't seem that cut and dried based on Hirsch's public statement, however.  It sounds as if Hirsch is still planning to release the tape at some point once they have their legal ducks in a row.

It's easy to wonder if McCready has something to do with the tape coming to light since she also has a new album, I'm Still Here, now in stores. She insists it was not a publicity stunt and says, "I'm trying to get my career back...The last thing I would want to do is to release something like this." McCready also has a young son named Zander from a previous relationship, and she says, "I do not want my son to ever be able to go back on the Internet and see anything like this of his mother."

Whatever McWeirdo.  I don't believe anything you have to say and think for the sake of your son you should retreat from the public eye forever.  Go. Away.
