Alan Jackson has received nearly every award and honor known to country music over the last 20 years, but the accolade he's getting on Friday really impresses the laid-back superstar. Alan's getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard, not far from the stars of John Travolta and The Doors.  Alan says, "I'm a big movie fan, and to think about all the great actors and other music people that are out there, that's just unreal to me."

The star also represents a permanent reminder of Alan's success in the entertainment industry.  Says Alan, "Just think about, years to come, my kids -- or if I have grandchildren or something -- go out there, and they can just walk right up there and step right on it." As for his proximity to John Travolta's star, Alan suspects that's no accident. "They knew what a good dancer I was," he says with a laugh, "so they wanted me over by John, you know."
