The Band Perry's feel-good tune "Hip To My Heart" was actually one of the last songs that the siblings wrote for their EP, The Band Perry. The song turned out to be their debut single.  Neil and Kimberly Perry share how "Hip To My Heart" originally transpired, and why their writing session for it was so unique:

(Neil) "When we started writing that song, ...we just decided all of a sudden to throw up a drum loop, which we never do in a songwriting session... and it just gave this great energy to the song that we didn't really have on the rest of the album. And we just love the energy that came of it." (Kimberly) "Yeah, it was in one of the last batch of songs that we wrote for the album. We were kinda coming threw a dry period of writing, and so it was, like, let's throw up a loop! It's a new element, and sometimes just introducing something new in the writing room will take you on a completely different path than maybe what you imagined it would towards the beginning of the day. It's fun. It's our little shot of caffeine song right over the airwaves. And it makes people smile. I think it brightens up the day, so we dig it."

My favorite song from The Band Perry and of the YEAR so far is "If I Die Young"...amazingly beautiful and perfect and I listen to it over and over again and let it envelope me...listen to it yourself on their myspace page HERE and fall in love just like I did.
