Taylor Swift has inadvertently caused no end of troubles for a school and a newspaper in England -- as well as for an up-and-coming singer named Taylor Bright.  

According to the BBC, Taylor Bright, a 16-year-old American, was supposed to perform for 480 students at a Catholic Junior School in Northwest England yesterday, but a local paper, the Liverpool Echo, mistakenly ran a story saying that Taylor Swift would be performing.  Then, an announcement was made over the PA system to 40 thousand fans at a local soccer game, also saying that Taylor Swift would perform at the school.  As a result, Bright's performance was canceled, because school officials feared they'd be overrun with crazed Taylor Swift fans.   A spokeswoman for Bright told the BBC, "I have no idea why they thought Taylor Swift would be performing at the school when she was in America picking up her Grammys."

The paper has now issued a statement regretting its mistake, and says it's not only apologized to the school's officials, but that it's also making a monetary donation to the school as, quote, "a gesture of goodwill."
