American Idol finalist and Milwaukee, Wisconsin native Danny Gokey made his Grand Ole Opry debut this weekend as a part of the Sound and Speed event. It was another step in Danny's journey as a country artist. His debut single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me," is now climbing the country chart, but Danny's first introduction to country's soulful side came when he was barely a teenager. His dad played him some of Wynonna Judd's music, and Danny says, quote, "I loved it. She had this soul that just went into it, and you just felt the music when it played."  

Now Danny is looking forward to introducing country fans to his own brand of soulful country music. He's really found a home in this genre, saying, "I love the music. I love the people, and I love what it stands for."  Danny's single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me," is now available as a digital single. Look for his debut album, My Best Days, to be released soon.
