Lady Antebellum is riding high with two sold-out shows coming up at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on March 11th and 10th. All tickets were gone just 30 minutes after they went on sale Friday. Lady A's Hillary Scott was quick to thank their fans saying, quote, "They are the best fans in the world for giving us the honor of playing the legendary Ryman Auditorium for two straight nights. We feel like we are living a dream." Lady Antebellum will release their sophomore album, Need You Now, on January 26th. It features their platinum-selling title track as well as the new single, "American Honey."
In other Lady Antebellum news, they've been deeply affected by the earthquake in Haiti. In an interview with CMT.com, Charles Kelley says he and his wife Cassie were moved to give to the Red Cross after watching news footage of the earthquake on ABC's Nightline.
Hillary Scott has a personal connection to the tragedy in Haiti. A friend of hers was planning to adopt a little girl from Haiti with his wife. She doesn't know all the details on their situation just yet, but Hillary says, quote, "Whenever something like that hits close to home with someone you know, it just really puts it into perspective." Lady Antebellum encourages their fans to give to the relief effort in Haiti.
I think more Country artitsts need to start speaking up like Lady A and encourage fans to donate. You may have celebrity status but what good is it if it isn't used for things like giving back to those in need? ~Vanessa
