Loretta Lynn will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy on Saturday, January 30th in Los Angeles. The ceremony takes place at the Wilshire Ebell Theater that afternoon. The late Bobby Darin and Michael Jackson are also receiving the honor from the Recording Academy, which is the same organization that gives out the Grammy Awards. In the "long overdue" category, the Academy will also recognize Thomas Edison, inventor of the phonograph, with the Technical Grammy Award. Edison died in 1931.
