Newcomer Josh Thompson writes most of his own material. In fact, he either wrote or co-wrote every song on his upcoming debut album, Way Out Here, including his current Top 20 hit, "Beer On The Table."  Josh shares that he feels that his writing really took flight after he had a certain realization...Josh says....

"I don't really think I really come into my own as far as songwriting is concerned until I started to stop writing what I thought people wanted to hear and start writing what made sense to me and writing issues that I actually knew about [laughs]. I think that's when some of the success started happenin', you know? I love writing songs, love the whole creation of it, just to make something like that out of nothing, and then to take it to a stage and have somebody raise a beer because of it or have somebody cry or make somebody want to dance – it's just amazing, the whole process."

I like Josh.  His music is real, raw and relatable.  Artists who write their own music get a huge amount of respect from me.  ~Vanessa
