The Screen Actors Guild on Saturday night didn't quibble much with the outcome of the Golden Globe Awards. There were many repeat winners at the Los Angeles ceremony. The Blind Side actress SANDRA BULLOCK and Crazy Heart star JEFF BRIDGES, who both were honored at the Golden Globes, won the top individual acting prizes. Bullock was quick to shoot down any Oscar talk for herself backstage, telling reporters, "Shhhh! Shhhh!" MO'NIQUE and CHRISTOPH WALTZ also followed up on their Golden Globe wins with victories at the SAG Awards, for Precious and Inglorious Basterds, respectively. Waltz's movie also won the award for best ensemble cast. Avatar was not a nominee in any film category despite its historic success, perhaps because so much of it was computer-generated.
On the TV side, Golden Globe-winners Mad Men and Glee received the best drama and best comedy series prizes. Dexter actor MICHAEL C. HALL, The Good Wife actress JULIANNA MARGULIES, 30 Rock's ALEC BALDWIN, Taking Chance star KEVIN BACON, and Grey Gardens actress DREW BARRYMORE also repeated their Globes success at the SAG Awards. BETTY WHITE received a lifetime achievement honor at Saturday's ceremony.
