Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Say Their Love is About the Little Things

Posted by Vanessa Ryan on

So how did engaged couple Carrie Underwood and pro hockey player Mike Fisher know that they'd each found the right one? Carrie tells People magazine, "From the beginning it felt different. You could tell Mike had the best intentions all the time." He chimes in, "The first thing that struck me was how shy she was, yet down-to-earth. I knew pretty early she was a special girl, and I was very lucky!"

Carrie says their relationship is not about "grand romantic gestures," but rather "the little things" they do for each other. For example, she cleans out his refrigerator and goes grocery shopping for him; he makes dinner, looks after her dog (and soon-to-be ring-bearer), Ace, and he buys her purses. (Underwood claims he's "spot-on" when it comes to her taste.) She also says one of her favorite things her fiancé does is showing her off to his friends. Carrie confesses, "It makes me feel really good... We're [just] really considerate of one another. Mike makes me feel so special. I don't care what the title is: bride-to-be, girlfriend, bride... as long as I'm around him, I'm good."
