Lady Antebellum have been stars in the country world for more than two years now, but they're gaining a ton of new fans in the pop world thanks to their smash crossover hit "Need You Now."
The group wants fans who are just discovering them now to know one main thing about them: it's all about the songs. Charles Kelley says, "We started out writing songs together, so I think songwriting comes first and foremost." Hillary Scott adds, "And if there's any theme through how we write, it's honest, y'know? We've really, truly tried to write about what we know, what we've been through...because I don't think you can go wrong if you stay true to who you are."
"Need You Now" is definitely one of those songs that came from an honest and true place, so it's no surprise that it's resonating so strongly with fans. One man told Lady A that the song was responsible for him and his wife getting back together -- after the wife heard it, she called him and said they should give their relationship another chance. Hillary says, "That's the ultimate compliment. That's the coolest part, whenever we hear those stories...when they take those words that we've lived, and they can apply it to their lives."
It's not just ordinary folks who are enjoying Lady A's music -- they've got quite a few celeb fans as well. Chris Daughtry, John Mayer and Kris Allen are three stars who've taken to Twitter to proclaim their love for "Need You Now." Hillary says, "Oh my gosh, we're huge fans of [all of them], so it's very excited to see that, and we've re-tweeted back and said, 'Thanks!'
Don't forget to join us August 4th at the Wisconsin Valley Fair for Lady A, it's gonna be an amazing night! ~Vanessa
