Carrie Underwood made a stop at the  6th Annual Pedigree Adoption Drive at Bideawee Manhattan Shelter in New York yesterday a cause she deeply supports.   She appeared on the CBS Early Show Tuesday morning to discuss her involvement. The initiative seeks to bring awareness to the nation's homeless dog population. Of course, Carrie's own pup, ACE, goes with her wherever she goes.

Speaking of Ace.."He'll be one of the ring-bearers," Underwood jokingly told UsMagazine.com during Tuesday's Pedigree Adoption Drive event at the Bideawee Manhattan Dog Shelter.

"I don't know if I'll give him the actual ring," the singer added of her pooch. "He would probably run away with it or eat it or something."  "He's like my kid," the singer says of Ace. "It would be like if I was getting married and I had a child -- of course my child would be in the wedding!"

Celebrities lending their name and time to good causes gets two thumbs up from me!  I can't believe Carrie is actually growing on me.  Wow.  What is this world coming to?!?!?  ;)
