Troubled country singer Mindy McCready was hospitalized Tuesday in Cape Coral, Florida after her mother called 911 claiming her daughter had overdosed on Darvocet, a narcotic painkiller. The 911 tape was obtained by TMZ.com, but a friend of McCready's, Brent Young, tells the site her mother "overreacted."

According to Young, McCready had an adverse reaction to the Darvocet, which was apparently prescribed to deal with pain from a toe she broke two days ago. McCready and her mother, Gail Inge, are also locked in a custody dispute over McCready's son, and Young says McCready suspects her mother was trying to use the situation against her in the case. She was reportedly listed in good condition as of Tuesday evening.

On another note, McCready recently appeared on VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky. Pinsky tells TMZ he talked with McCready in the last few days, and there was no evidence she had relapsed. He also said Darvocet was an appropriate medication for the pain from her broken toe.

Narcotic painkiller for a broken toe?  Why not?  She's just a drug addict and all.  Big.Hot.Mess.McCready.
