Jerrod Niemann believes in standing up for those he cares about, no matter when, where or what he or they are wearing.  Jerrod waited until the last minute to pick up a Halloween costume a few years back and had to take what was left -- a prisoners' outfit and a Santa beard -- to create the costume "Santa in Prison."

His girlfriend at the time was dressed as a provocative Cinderella.  As he and his girlfriend were walking along that night, a few guys yelled a disrespectful comment at Jerrod's girlfriend, and he had to take matters into his own hands. "You know, you gotta stand up for your girl, and if something bad happens, you did the right thing," he says.

After Jerrod yelled something back at the rude carload of guys, they got out and started fighting with Jerrod. He hung in there punch for punch, but says, "Every time I was struck, I thought, 'You're beatin' up Santa! And he's already in prison! I mean, gah!'"

It all turned out OK in the end, though, although Jerrod and the suggestive Cinderella eventually broke up. As he puts it, "Santa survived, and our relationship didn't."
