There are reports that a California law may force Kim Kardashian to prove that Kanye West fathered her child because she’s still technically married to Kris Humphries. But don't pay much attention to them.

According to California attorney Dana Cole, the legal “anomaly” about presumed fatherhood that is on the books in most states doesn’t apply to Kardashian.

“It’s a law that ensures that a child has two parents,” he tells ABCNews.com. “It’s used in absence of evidence to the contrary, if someone is not claiming fatherhood. In this situation, it would never be triggered.”

West proudly announced that Kardashian was pregnant with his child at a December 30 concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey. While Kardashian’s split from Humphries has yet to be settled — they were married for 72 days before she filed for divorce in 2011 — Cole says her marriage status is a “non-issue” when it comes to her baby.

Why is she still married to Kris anyway?  Shouldn't the divorce be done by now? Its taking ten times longer than they were married!
