Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) -  People on Sheboygan’s south side will get a chance to weigh-in on the closing of the fire station on South 18th Street.  Residents in the area along with their alderman Eric Rindfleisch have organized a listening session for tonight at 7 o’clock in the upper level of Crossroads.  Fire Chief Jeff Herman will join Rindfleisch to provide information and answer questions.  Some people in the area believe they are now at risk since the station closed last Monday.  They said the area contains two large mobile home parks, large apartment complexes, an industrial park and a chemical plant along with a railroad track which could affect Fire Department response times.  Herman announced last month, that due to a manpower shortage, he would be closing 3 fire stations on a rolling basis, with the south side station the first to be shut down.
