Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) - Sheboygan Police have identified the Two Rivers man shot to death by police early this morning. Captain Bob Wallace said he is 52 year old James Knee. He was stopped for speeding by a 7-year veteran police officer at 17th and Michigan Avenue about 1:30 this morning. When he pulled a handgun, refused to put it down and came toward the officer, he was shot twice and died later at the hospital. Wallace said Knee, who had ties to Sheboygan, had an extensive criminal history in Idaho, Nevada and Wisconsin. He was currently on supervision from a 1999 conviction. The 30 year old officer who shot him has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues. Coroner Dave Leffin said the autopsy showed that one shot went through Knee’s heart and liver while the other nicked one of his fingers
