MARSHALL (WKZO) - It's taken a while because of questions about his mental state, but the murder trial of Kentish St. Ange has begun in Calhoun County Court. He is charged with stabbing his wife 24 times at a Love's Truck Stop near Marshall two years ago after she accused him of cheating. St. Ange was a long haul trucker and had parked his truck there.

Witnesses described for the prosecution how he chased her around the parking lot, stabbing her with a pocket knife. The prosecution has also presented testimony from truck stop employees about that day and shown video of his police interview.

After the killing, police say he immediately got on his cell phone and called 911 to report it. He was arrested standing near her body, the bloody knife still in his hand.

The trial will resume next week.
