MARSHALL, MI (WKZO) -- A 59-year-old Marshall Man is reported in critical condition after his plane crashed in a field next to Brooks Airfield near Marshall last evening.

The name of the pilot has not been released.  He had reportedly towed a glider into the air and was returning to the airport when he crashed. The single-engine plane was totaled.  

The Pilot was breathing but unresponsive when he was cut from the wreck. He was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital for emergency surgery.  The glider landed safely. The FAA is investigating.
