GREEN BAY, WI (WHBL) - The Green Bay Packers are 0-2 in the pre-season for the first time since 2008, after falling to the Cleveland Browns 35-10 Thursday night at Lambeau Field. The Packers recovered a fumble on the opening play when Charles Woodson stripped the ball from Cleveland’s Montario Hardesty. The turnover resulted in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson – and those turned out to be the highlights of the night for Green Bay, as they committed four turnovers later on. The Browns chipped away at the Packer first stringers with a pair of field goals by Phil Dawson. Then Cleveland took the lead for good at the start of the second quarter, when Hardesty ran it in from a yard out. Ex-Packer Brandon Jackson scored in the third quarter. Rodgers completed 6 of 11 passes for 59 yards and one T-D. Graham Harrell went 12 of 24 for 100 yards and two interceptions, including one to David Sims that resulted in a 38-yard touchdown. Packers’ rookie B-J Coleman threw a pick for his only pass. With five running backs out, Rodgers and Harrell were Green Bay’s leading rushers. Rodgers had the most with 24 yards. With Greg Jennings out, Jarrett Boykin was the Pack’s leading receiver with five catches for 63 yards. Brandon Weeden played the first half for the Browns, and completed 12 of 20 passes for 118 yards. Afterward, Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy was fuming about his team’s four turnovers. Randall Cobb committed the other one when he fumbled the ball away. Rodgers said he got better protection from his offensive line. The Packers reported no injuries during the game. Their next exhibition is next Thursday night at Cincinnati.
