LOS ANGELES, CA (WHBL) - Sheboygan native and former Marquette basketball coach Rick Majerus died of heart failure on Saturday. He was 64 years old. Majerus coached 25 years at four universities with only one season with a losing record. He reached the NCAA tournament 12 times, leading Utah to the 1998 national title game before losing to Kentucky. He had announced November 19th that the heart condition would keep him from coaching the St. Louis University Billikens this season. Majerus was undergoing evaluation and treatment at a Los Angeles hospital when he died. He had a 517-and-216 record as a college coach.
