MADISON, WI (WHBL) - The Wisconsin men’s basketball team will host U-W Green Bay tonight. The Badgers are 6-4 after losing by 10 points at Marquette last Saturday. The Phoenix are 3-5 after a six-point defeat at Tennessee Tech last Thursday. Wisconsin senior forward Ryan Evans is in a major free-throw slump. He has made just 14 of 44 free throw attempts in his first 10 games, for just under 32-percent. Last season, he made 73-percent from the charity stripe. Badgers’ assistant coach Gary Close says he has worked with Evans on his free throws, but the only way he’ll improve is to make more of them during a game and get his confidence back. Meanwhile, Green Bay is making close to 76-percent of its free throws – the second-best mark among Horizon League teams. Junior Kam Cerroni is a perfect 16 of 16 from the line. Sophomore Keifer Sykes is Green Bay’s top scorer, with 16 points a game. Senior center Jared Berggren leads the Badgers with just over 14 per contest.
Coverage of tonight's game on WHBL begins at 7pm. Game-time is set for 8 o'clock.
