WAUWATOSA, WI  (WSAU)  -  Investigators are looking into the death of an on-duty Wauwatosa Police officer Monday morning.  Dispatchers tried to reach the officer at around 3:00 a.m. but were unsuccessful.  The officer was found dead a couple of hours later.   Wauwatosa Lt. Gerald Witkowski says the officer does not appear to have died from natural causes.  Witkowski couldn't say if it was homicide investigation.

The state department of justice's criminal investigation unit is investigating. The officer's name will be released after family members are notified.
