SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan woman will stand trial for the death of her infant daughter 55 years ago. Attorney Kirk O’ Bear said Tuesday morning that a plea deal that had been offered to Klokow recently had been rejected, and they would need a trial date set. 76 year old Ruby Klokow was in Sheboygan County Court last month and was found competent to stand trial following a mental competency evaluation in September. Klokow was charged last year after her son told police he felt the child had died from child abuse. Klokow was charged with 2nd degree murder, and told investigators that she threw the child onto the couch, but she hit the wall instead. Klokow is free on bail, and a week long jury trial has been set for the week of February 18th.
