Wisconsin Looks To Knock off Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (WHBL) - Just getting that one touchdown won’t be enough for the Wisconsin Badgers. The one touchdown needed is for Montee Ball.  It would give him 79 for his career and make him the all-time TD scorer in major college football.  The Badgers are wanting more than that, though.  They’re searching for momentum going into the Big Ten Championship game. Coach Bret Bielema isn’t pulling his punches, saying he will play his starters even though his Badgers have already qualified for the title game.  At 7-4 and 4-3 in conference play, the Badgers actually have one of their less impressive records in recent seasons.  Ball’s senior season has been something of a disappointment, but he still has 14 hundred rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s with a possibility of some snow flurries, so this could be an old-fashioned, keep-it-on-the-ground game at College Station. The Nittany Lion record is also 7-4 in a season which started under a cloud of controversy and scandal.

Pregame coverage on WHBL begins this afternoon at 12:30, with kickoff at 2:30.

Meanwhile, the 17th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers clinched a berth in the Big Ten championship game against the Badgers with a 13-7 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday.  Nebraska, which has won six in a row, edged Michigan for the Legends Division crown and will face Wisconsin in the conference title game Dec. 1 in Indianapolis.
