SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The 2013 Sheboygan County budget is now in the hands of the County Board and headed for a public hearing next week.  County Administrator Adam Payne told supervisors Tuesday night that the budget contains a modest increase of just under 1 percent in the property tax levy.  He said it's only the second levy increase in the past six years.  The total budget is up by 2.7 percent and calls for a tax rate for county purposes of $5.41 per thousand - an increase of 13 cents.  Payne said the county workforce will be reduced by 29 people, due mostly to retirement, and county employees will contribute an additional 1.2-million dollars for pension and health insurance.  The budget will be formally introduced for a public hearing next week, with final passage expected the following week.
