HOWARDS GROVE, Wis. (WHBL) - Lakeland College and Columbia College of Nursing have formed a partnership to increase the number of registered nurses in anticipation of a pending nursing shortage. Lakeland Communications Director David Gallianetti says it comes at a time when other nursing schools are turning away students due to insufficient numbers of faculty, budget constraints and other factors. Gallianetti said up to 50 students each year who meet academic criteria will be admitted to Columbia in Glendale. He said students will complete their first two years at Lakeland and then finish up their final two years at Columbia before graduating with a degree in nursing.
