LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ) - Not guilty pleas were entered Thursday for a Minnesota man accused of killing a La Crosse man and his son, and robbing the father’s downtown camera shop.
39-year-old Jeffrey Lepsch of Dakota stood mute during his arraignment in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
Judge Ramona Gonzalez entered not guilty pleas to two counts of homicide, armed robbery by force, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The next proceeding will be held in about a month, when a trial date could be set.
Lepsch remains in jail under a $2 million bond.
Authorities said he shot and killed 56-year-old Paul Petras and 19-year-old A.J. Petras on September 15th at May’s Photo in La Crosse.
Officials said he got away $16,000 in stolen camera equipment – and police recovered 14 items from the shop when they searched the Lepsch home on October 10th. He has denied being involved in the deaths.
