SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The trial of a Sheboygan woman charged in the death of her infant daughter 55 years ago has been adjourned. 76 year old Ruby Klokow was charged last year after her son told police he felt the child had died from child abuse. Klokow was later charged with 2nd degree murder and her trial was scheduled to begin on Monday. However, during a hearing this morning, Judge Angela Sutkiewicz ordered a mental competency evaluation. DA Joe DeCecco said when the evaluation is completed there could be a new trial date set or other action taken by the court, depending on the outcome. During the investigation, Klokow admitted she threw the child onto the couch, but the infant hit the wall. Klokow remains free on bail awaiting her next court appearance.
