SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man and Milwaukee woman are each facing 6 counts of forgery after cashing fraudulent checks at a gas station in Sheboygan recently. 32 year old Alonzo Walker and 26 year old Georgeanna Brown were both charged Monday in Sheboygan County Court after the owner of the gas station contacted police. According to the criminal complaint, the bank notified the gas station owner last Wednesday that 6 checks he’d cashed were fraudulent. The total value of the checks is over $3,100. The checks were all made to look like payroll checks from a local temporary staffing agency. The two were arrested when they went back to the gas station a 7th time to cash a check, and the attendant contacted authorities. They’re each facing up to 36 years in prison if convicted.
