SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The city of Sheboygan’s ambulance service is doing well and making a significant contribution to the city budget. Finance Director Jim Amodeo appeared before the city council Monday night and told aldermen that the per capita cost of the ambulance service is one of the lowest of cities of comparable size. Amodeo said per capita costs are actually the 7th lowest among 23 cities of comparable size and, when revenue is considered, the per capita cost drops to 2nd lowest.. Amodeo said the ambulance service took in 737-thousand dollars during its first year of operation in 2008 and has been growing ever since. He said the projection for this year is $1.1-million. Amodeo said that is expected to generate about $550,000 in revenue for the city's general fund.
