The Packers have signed free agent tight end Matthew Mulligan to a one year contract, believed to be around the veteran minimum. The 28 year old Mulligan played for the St. Louis Rams in 2012, appearing in all 16 games. He spent most of the prior three years with the New York Jets. Mulligan is 6-4, 265 pounds who played collegiately at the University of Maine. He was an undrafted free agent signed by Miami in 2008 and also spent time on the Tennessee Titans practice squad. Mulligan is more an in line tight end than a receiving threat and will essentially replace Tom Crabtree who signed a restricted free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
